whoaaaaaa hold up. 1st of all, that list is based on murders per 400,000 people. If you look further into charts that accompany that one it will tell you how many people get killed.
Alabama is bout 5.3 people, ny is bout 4.9. So....... ny population is like bout 5 times the pop of alabama so a lot more people still get killed in ny than most of those cities.
That's why so many small cities are on that list. Sum cities on there are just ridiculous such as West Palm beach. Whole bunch of rich people live there.
I know cuz I have family there. So good try homie but ya'll aint foolin no one that actually knows shit bout these things.

actually here's the equation for you.
Population % Murders = ratio of murders to people
I did the math
Birmingham = 1 murder per 3000 ppl
New York = 1 murder per 12000 ppl
So what are the odds of getting murdered. Which is more dangerous? Do the math.

think about it this way homies, a village has 100 people, there is a murder rate of 40 people murdered a year... another big ass city has 600,000 people but 50 people get murdered a year... which one would u rather live in the one with more murders or the one with higher murder rate due to population, that village sounds like some shit goes down even though its small and i wouldnt fucking live there , so amount means shit.. you could have 10238042089432089432098 googleplex people and 1 billion die a year thats nothing, looks like both of you guys did some research on it  , but ratios are what ur supposed to look into, like this ratio, if canada was put into a population of 1 million each country ur 350x more likely to die in the u.s.
